STORY BEHIND OUR NAME
Kerasus is the historical name of Giresun, a lovely city at northeast coast of Turkey with the only island in Black Sea, where our founder has been born and raised.
Linguist Robert S. P. Beekes states that ultimate origin of “Kerasus” is from pre-Greek substrate, likely of Anatolian origin, which means “Cherry Tree“.
According to Roman philosopher Pliny the Elder (AD 23 – AD 79), the cherry plant was first exported from Kerasus to Europe in Roman times by commander Lucullus.
